Semester 2: Greek mythology
English 9:
In English/Communications we read Greek myths about gods, goddesses, and etc. We were assigned to make a children's book dealing with Greek mythology "characters" , but the story had to be based off of a current world issue. My story is about conceited celebrities and how they act. Computer Science: In Computer Science, we had to make flowcharts using a program called Gliphy. Gliphy was like our rough draft for the next thing I'm going to tell you about. After our Gliphy, we had to use another program called Twinery to make another flowchart. Twinery is a program that uses coding to make my flowchart in story form. Physics/Engineering: In physics, we had to make a wind turbine that generated electricity. We had to have a group of four in this project, with our group, we had to go through the whole engineering design process. The engineering design process is a series of steps you use to build or come to the conclusion of something. SEMESTER 2: SPARKING A REVOLUTION (Hunger Games)
English 9/Communications: In English we were required to write a speech based on our district and why we were with or against the Capitol. My district is district 2 of masonry and we are with the Capitol because we are rich. My speech gives all the reasons you should join my district. We also needed to make a paper costumes, to represent our district.
Physics/Engineering: In Physics and Engineering, we had to create a district model with four land marks, a moving object, and 4 light circuits. I was assigned to make one landmark and my landmark was a weapon holder. The weapon holder was also our moving piece. It spun in circles, to display the weapon.
Computer Science: In Computer Science, we were assigned to make a game relating to our district, on a program called scratch. Our Hunger Games District was 2 and it was the district of masonry. The adults in my district trained their kids for the hunger games at a young age, so I made a game that "trained" you for the games. My game tracked your motion and you had to jump over an arrow as it moved back and forth. To access my game, click the red underscore: _
SEMESTER 2: PICTURE PROJECT
Computer Science: In computer science, we had to make a scratch game or an app inventor app dealing with our picture project in Physics class. My theme for the entire project is food. I made a food group organizing game because it relates to food, and it was pretty easy to code. My game asks you to check off every food that's in a certain group. When you click on your choices, you will press the next button and it will take you to a camera. The camera will take your picture and give you the results. Physics: In physics I had to make something displaying my theme with pictures, while using physics to describe and explain my picture. As I said before, my theme is food. I made a booklet with pictures of different types of foods in it and used different types of energies to incorporate physics to my pictures. To see my work, click the following link:
English: In English, we had to record a podcast. The podcast had to be recorded in an audible and conversational tone. My podcast was about whether humans are or are not powerless to create the world we want to live in.
